Scored highly by an independent expert jury NAVTEK, was in the vanguard of Nord Deutschland Maritimes Cluster’s ’ZeroEmission@Berth’ Innovation Competition, being announced as a finalist in two categories at SMM Hamburg 2022.
NAVTEK’s two innovative zero emissions electric tug (ZEETUG) projects were shortlisted as finalists under two different categories among 30 projects submitted by companies in 14 different countries. The world’s first operational all-electric tugboat ZEETUG30 was a finalist under the ‘Existing Solution’ category; supported by a bespoke quick charge system the ZEETUG30 has been operating in Tuzla port since 2019. The second project, HYDROTUG60, is the world’s first hydrogen fuel cell and battery hybrid tugboat. It was shortlisted under the ‘Prototype’ category as a technically proven design concept ready for development and approval stages.
